Current Project
Starting April 2023 the Summit to Sea walk is to across Kenya from the foot of Mount Kenya in Nanyuki round trip to the shores of the Indian Ocean in Mombasa, 5 months, 2000 Kilometers (746 miles), traveling with the aid of camels as luggage carriers.
Every month on route in various towns there will be workshops, community talks, assessments, and support, conducted by Special Education Professionals, Differently Talented Society of Kenya, This Ability and the local Early Learning Assessment Resource Centers (EARC’s) to help educate and create awareness on disability.
The first walk - April 2014.
One Week. 150 Km.
Meeting a variety of nomadic people in the North of Kenya. Discussing disabilities and the importance of support
(Many Nomadic people still hold negative attitudes towards persons with disabilities)
The Second Walk - 1st - 29th September 2016
One Month - 450 Km
Starting and ending in Nanyuki; Passing through Meru, Chuka, Embu, Baricho and Nyeri. Holding 5 informative and educational workshops to the public, working with the Early Assessment Resources Centres (EARC) in Kenya
April 2023.
5 Months; 2000 Km
Starting and ending in Nanyuki.
Passing through; Kitui, Kilifi, Mombassa, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Nairobi, and Muranga.
Holding 5 Workshops; 1 a month with our partners and the EARC's.
